The Grand Eorzean Survey
Liberty Industries has for some time been pursuing a long-term project. They are performing a large-scale aetherial and biological survey of Eorzea, looking into the various places in the realm where aether has an extreme effect on the environment. The researchers study to gauge the amount of aether in an area, collect crystal samples, water samples, and plant samples, as well as map out and search the area for other strange aetherial phenomena and how it affects the environment. Sometimes this just accounts for strange lush plant life and other times it means observing and sometimes confronting strange creatures. The Liberty team has finished surveying the following regions: La Noscea, Thanalan, The Black Shroud, Mor Dhona, Coerthas, The Sea of Clouds, and Dravania. The final Eorzean region they need to survey is Ala Mhigo. The team is still in search of more researchers and other personnel to assist with their survey!

Liberty Industries is a multifaceted freelance research group. As such, they have a wide range of interests. Their general field of work lies in aetherology. Aetherology in the terms of our company is a complex and broad field because aether is the energy of life itself. It is the means by which magicks are manifest, the energy coursing through the veins of every living organism, and the power that makes the world turn. The aetherial plane and the physical plane are inexorably intertwined. Because of this, Liberty Industries takes on all manner of research. While they primarily work on demystifying aetherial phenomena (sudden odd occurrences of aether working strangely in the world), they are also interested generally in understanding the systems governing the world. Beyond the study of aetherial phenomena and magicks, they also study plants, animals, ecosystems, and aether’s effects on the environment. Furthermore, they hope to better understand how aetherial workings of the world so that they can inform the public, that they might be more knowledgeable about how their world works and better able to navigate it for themselves.The main project at LI currently is what they call their Grand Survey of Eorzea. They are surveying all places of aetherial interest from La Noscea to Ala Mhigo. The LI Team investigates strange aetherial phenomena, studies crystals, dragon bones, abandoned towns, plants, and animals all along the way. They leave no stone unturned in their quest to survey and catalog every system of the foundation of their realm.LI researchers also have other projects including studying fallen meteorite fragments, researching the possible uses of morbol pheromones, looking into different types of crystals and their uses, studying the effects of soulbonds with items, as well as creating different safety, research, and travel inventions using a combination of Magitek, Sharlayan, and Allagan technology.

Collecting Meteorite Fragments

Scattered across the world are the fragments of a meteorite which once threatened the world during the times of Mhach. The ancient black mages blew the incoming meteorite before it could strike the planet, causing it to explode into many fragments. This project involves collecting the scattered meteorite fragments and seeing if there can be any use for them.
Aetheric Stability Controllers
Project Conducted by Huho Sopoho
This large scale project attempts to create ‘pockets’ of aetheric stability in areas of Eorzea badly stricken by aetheric imbalance. Using material thought to create Dalamud, signal towers will be built to create a radius (making said pocket) where environmental aether levels are balanced despite the Calamity.
Winter Resistant Coerthan Crops
Project Conducted by Coiled Oak
A number of attempts are being made to produce plants that can consistently thrive in the harsh perpetual winter conditions of Coerthas. The experiments are numerous: attempting to see if cold-weather plants in other regions can thrive in Coerthas, whether or not the aetheric polarity can be altered, and other methods using a combination of aetherology, magicks, and botany.
Magic Thread

The Applied Magicks Department is attempting to find a means to imbue magic into threads and other wearable baubles to better arm those who have lost their foci in battle or are unable to carry cumbersome tomes, staves, and astrolabes. While not a replacement for these tools, this will provide a mage with an extra push when unable to reach them.
Liberty Industries is a freelance research organization. They are a group dedicated to advancing knowledge in all of its forms out of the belief that it is through greater understanding about the world that people become empowered to forge their own destiny. To that end, LI has various departments focusing in alchemy, engineering, history, biology, botany, geology, magical studies, aetherology, and everything in-between. They have a particular interest in studying strange aetherial phenomena in the world for to purpose of demystifying it and making that knowledge public for the greater safety of others. Liberty Industries is a place for like-minded people with an interest in understanding more about the world they live in as well as serving as a network and community of researchers helping one another with their projects. 1. What kind of Free Company is Liberty Industries?
We are a heavy RP FC. What that means is the major focus of our FC is roleplaying. We are not a group of raiders. However, we do have people who like clearing content both within the FC and as part of RP contacts. It is not a central focus of the FC. We don't organize groups for high-end content. We do like to get together for map groups, roulettes, and helping people complete the MSQ.2. What sort of RP does Liberty Industries do?
LI is ICly an independent research organization. What that means is they are a group of researchers focused on various projects but not tied to any political or military groups. The Eorzean Alliance is not directing LI's work. They do not have powerful Monetarists or Ishgardian nobles investing in their work. They are fully independent and free of outside influence. They sometimes take on freelance jobs. Check out the RP Projects section of our website for examples of research work they're doing!3. Is Liberty Industries an 18+ group?
In truth, we have found that a majority of FFXIV players are already 18+ so we don't have a hardline rule about that. Most of us are 30 or older. We consider ourselves an 18+ group not because we engage in mature / adult content (we don't have an NSFW discord channel and never will, for example) but because we expect 18+ levels of maturity in how we treat one another.4. What is the atmosphere of the LI group?
People have said our chat and interactions are something like "business casual." We try to keep a fun yet mature atmosphere. Everyone is expected to act like adults with each other no matter what topic gets brought up. We have silly moments. We have moments where the conversation can get onto risque or controversial topics (politics, for example). In all things you are asked to be mature. It's okay to engage with discussions just as it's okay to disengage. It's also okay to avoid them outright if that's what's most comfortable. If someone expresses discomfort with a given topic it's expected that person's wishes are respected. Be a good neighbor!5. What is the policy on swearing?
To keep our FC atmosphere light, we ask everyone to limit their swearing in all chat channels. The occasional curse happens, we all do it. Don't go on and on like a pirate on the Limsa Lominsa docks. In general our Discord and in-game chat channels are PG-13.6. How do I deal with someone who I'm having a problem with?
There are officers who can help! Please try to work it out between yourselves first; however, if you feel uncomfortable with another member of the FC or the discord (including one of the officers) contact Lillica or Huho so a civil compromise can be reached.7. What are the expectations of roleplayers involved with Liberty Industries?
Like with our OOC atmosphere, we expect roleplayers to be respectful people. RPers need to keep a separation between their character and themselves. Any romance or aggressive behavior between characters should not be connected to the people playing them. We also do not tolerate characters and players who ERP in public. What you do behind closed doors is up to you. In public you are always representing Liberty Industries and you are expected to represent us well within the FFXIV community.

Composed of engineering and alchemy, this department focuses on creating innovative products, tools, and equipment for the needs of Liberty Researchers and projects. They also create new inventions and products.Tempering Studies
Pioneering new fields of research, this multi-disciplinary department seeks to solve the problem of tempering on Eorzea.
